Newspaper Columnist and Features Make Reading Newspaper Enjoyable

Nowadays need for information become important in our life. People become dependent with information to support their life. Many kind of device present information that we needs. Newspaper is the older one of media that give us that information.

It contain stories on local and national political events and personalities, crime, business, entertainment, society, lifestyle, and  sports. Most traditional newspaper also have editorials that written by an editor and columns that express the author opinion. The editorial staff arrange this various information to a form that compact, efficient and interesting device.

There are some features include in the newspaper  to make it more interesting and enjoyable to read. For example :

Weather forecast. Although, sometimes the weather can`t  be predicted but if we know the weather forecast, at least we can prepare for the weather.

Schedule arrived and departure for public transportation such as train, bus, plane and ship.

Reviews of radio, movies, television, plays, and restaurants.

Crosswords. It is like a puzzle that contain some question and the readers asked to answer it any fulfill the column. It is very enjoyable for the readers to relieve stress. And sometimes the editorial prepare some prize for who can answer all the question and fulfill the column.

Other features like editorial cartoons, gag cartoons, comic strips, and many more.

In this electronic era many of news editorial start to make a newspaper in digital version. So people who can`t buy a print newspaper can download it for digital version.

In conclusion with many features and columnist newspaper can more enjoyable to read.

Electric Cars

We have been witnessing euphoria about electric car production in our public discourse, with the government aiming to mass produce 10,000 such vehicles in 2014. This talk about electric cars emerges of a government policy to curb fuel subsidies.

Because of the growing public awareness about global warming, the increasingly urgent need to reduce carbon emissions, and also the government policy to curb fuel subsidies, electric cars couldn`t be avoided anymore.

The electric cars have some social benefits when compared to petroleum-fueled cars. First, using the electrical energy derived from domestic power will increase economic growth. Second, the reduction of air pollution and noise levels will improve public healthy quality. Third, the intensive use of electricity infrastructure will optimize the value to be gained from electricity infrastructure; and, fifth,  potential for reducing renewable electricity integration cost.

However, the electric cars also have some disadvantages. First,  increasing traffic congestion in many places where people more like to use private car. Second,  the pollution effect from the competition in using electric power resources between electric car and industry. Third, increase traffic accident because of the sound from electric car is less noisy to heard by the pedestrian. Fourth,  the rising potential cost of electricity infrastructure if smart charging technology is not well developed.

Generally, I agree with Mr. Teddy Lesmana, the writer of the article, about unreadiness the government in developing mass production. But , I still optimist this project will going on like our hope. As long as the government seriuos to develope the supporting infrastructure for electric cars. Because,  if the supporting infrastructure not well enough developed, the aim of the government to decrease fuel consumption will fail and people will back to petroleum-fueled transportation. After that, the government should popularize and make sure the people about the capability of the electric cars and this transportation safe, convenient, and reliable to ride everywhere.

Sosok orang yang takan terlupa..

Selasa 19 April pagi saat kami sedang membereskan tenda setelah semalam kami bermukim di depan curug dua orang datang. Seorang diantaranya memakai sweeter kuning dan sendal jepit. Ia tersenyum dan kamipun ikut tertawa.

Namun hari itu kami membuat ia sangat marah dan kecewa. 

Bermula dari keegoisan kami yang sangat lelah berjalan sampai-sampai meninggalkan seorang teman kami ditinggal sementara kami enak naik truk yang baru saja lewat. Setelah sampai terminal barulah kita sadar, dan pikiran yang terlintas hanyalah dua, yaitu 1. dimanakah teman kami?, 2. wah pasti ieu mah beunang carek!

Syukur akhinya teman kami ditemukan di sebuah warung yang sedang meminum es dingin (pertanyaan 1 terjawab). Nah setelah itu terjawab pekiran kita yang kedua. "kalian semua goblok masa temen kamu ditinggalin", ia berteriak. Kami tidak bisa berkata apa-apa karena semua alasan untuk mengelak sudah diketahui olehnya. Saat itulah pertama kalinya ia marah didepan angkatan saya, namun perkiraan saya dan rekan saya yang sepertinya akan kena gampar tak terjadi. Dan kamipun akhirnya pulang ke Bandung dengan rasa bersalah.

Seperti itulah kiranya kronologinya.

Dan yang dapat saya ambil bahwa "semarah apapun kamu jangan sampai kau dikendalikan oleh amarahmu!".

Sebuah persembahan dan permintaan maaf kepada lelaki berkaca mata yang selalu tersenyum.
